Horizontal is a picture that is wider than it is tall.

This picture of my bird is an example of  a horizontal picture. The width is greater than its height.

An up angle is also known as worm’s eye view. The picture is taken from an angle that is looking up at the subject. It portrays strength and authority.
This picture is an example of an up angle. It was taken from the streets of NYC. The camera was aimed up towards the sky to capture the building.

Leading Line is a line that leads you visually to an object or that leads into the distance creating depth.

This image is an example of leading line. The string of lights on the banister goes into the distance creating a feeling of depth.

High Key is bright, intense, and active.
This picture is an example of high key. The bright light adds effect to the picture. Compared to the low key picture you could see how this is more active.

Distance determines the depth of a picture. It could be close, far, or medium. In this case it is close.
This picture is an example of close distance. The picture was taken with the camera zoomed in on the boy’s face. It captures more details and allows you to have a closer look at the subject.
